This Privacy Policy explains how Hoverflow (“Hoverflow,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you install and use the Hoverflow app (the “App”) on your Shopify store. By installing the App, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

The App is designed to store as little as possible. We collect and store only the data needed to run the product-video feature:

• Store identifier — your .myshopify.com domain and the Shopify access token issued during installation, used to authenticate API requests on your behalf.
• App settings — your on/off status and plan selection.
• Video configurations — the products you choose, the videos you upload (stored on Shopify’s CDN), playback mode (hover or autoplay), and accessibility text.

We access your products and theme through the Shopify Admin API solely to provide the App’s functionality, under the permissions you grant at installation.

Information we do not collect

Hoverflow does not collect, store, or process personal information about your customers (your store’s shoppers). The App does not track individual shopper identities, browsing history, or contact details. Videos play in the shopper’s browser; we do not receive analytics tied to any individual.

How we use information

• To display product videos on your storefront.
• To save and publish your configurations so they render to shoppers.
• To manage your subscription and enforce plan limits.
• To provide support and keep the App working with your theme.

How information is stored and shared

Your configuration data is stored in a secured database operated on our behalf, and your videos are stored on Shopify’s content delivery network. We rely on Shopify for authentication, billing, and API access. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising. We share data only with the service providers required to operate the App (such as our hosting and database providers) and where required by law.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data only while the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, your session is removed, and your stored configuration data is scheduled for deletion. You may also request deletion at any time by contacting us. We honor Shopify’s mandatory data-request and data-erasure (GDPR) webhooks for both store and customer data.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access tokens scoped to the minimum permissions the App needs. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
